Brokers are preparing to pencil in a new benchmark price for medium-range products tankers with the pending sale of two vessels formerly chartered to Hanjin Shipping.

TradeWinds reported last month that Pacific Alliance Group had secured the 46,697-dwt Pacific Duchess (built 2009) and the Pacific Marchioness (built 2010) for $43m en block.

That deal, however, collapsed and a fresh round of negotiations is now believed to have settled on a price of $38m or less.
