The chemical tanker sector has to steel itself for continued vessel oversupply for the next few years, warns shipping consultancy Drewry.
“Chemical shipping vessel supply on major routes has been in surplus with many newbuilding deliveries and swing tankers flooding the market,” it says.
“As a result, freight rates on long-haul routes will continue to be challenged by surplus large vessels over the next two years.”
