A private company controlled by the Lolli-Ghetti family has purchased another $2.86m worth of Scorpio Tankers shares.

Scorpio Services picked up 650,000 New York-listed shares in the open market at a price of $4.40.

The company is investing more than twice the amount of cash it splashed out in November, when the outfit spent $1.34m on 300,00 shares.

Scorpio Tankers was founded by the Lolli-Ghettis and is led by Emanuele Lauro, a member of the family.
