Aegean Marine Petroleum said Nikolas Tavlarios has resigned as president.

The move comes a week after the New York-listed bunker supplier posted earnings that were well short of Wall Street expectations.

Aegean said Tavlarios resigned, "by mutual agreement with the board of directors," effective immediately. He will continue to consult with the company as part of the management transition.

Caretaker leadership

The company said an interim leadership team will oversee operations until a new president has been appointed.
