MISC has confirmed an order for two shuttle tankers at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), which will be later chartered to Statoil.
The Malaysian owner said the newbuildings, due for delivery in 2019, will be deployed for operations in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea.
Statoil will decide by the end of the year whether it will hire the 125,000-dwt ships either for five or for seven years.
