In the middle of a poor market for shipping crude oil, suezmaxes are seeing marginally better demand hauling fuel oil from northwest Europe to the Middle East.
Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS) Group tanker analyst Alessandro Gelli says the increase in fuel oil cargoes stems from the changing needs of Saudi Arabia’s power plants.
The country traditionally relied on burning crude directly to generate electricity.
