Maersk Tankers has opened the door to hackers.

Unlike the cyber-attack on parent AP Moller-Maersk this summer, however, this encounter with disruptive forces is welcome.

The products tanker giant has called on “business geeks”, investors, coders, entrepreneurs and data scientists to help the company boost performance.

Its “hackathon” event will take place in August and will have a feel of a reality TV show as participants go head to head for the DDK 25,000 ($4,000) prize.
