Navig8 is preparing to launch a new VLCC pool targeting tankers that are past their 15th birthday.
The shipowner and pool operator has been in touch with tanker market players regarding interest in the VL8 Plus pool, which will be introduced alongside the company’s existing VL8 offering.
The move has caught the eye at a time when VLCC spot rates briefly sank below $10,000 per day in the past week and many are calling for scrapping to be stepped up.
