Singapore saw bunker sales jump to a six-month high last month, despite concerns over the introduction of mass flow meters (MFM).

Total bunker sales surged 6.8% year-on-year to 4.4mt. Year-on-year growth for the year-to-date has averaged 3%.

The increase in sales has quelled doubts that the compulsory use of MFMs in Singapore may raise operating costs and lead to a fall in demand, said the Ocean Freight Exchange (OFE).
