Tanker demolition continues at pace with depressed rates sending more vessels to the breakers' beaches.

Four VLCCs were scrapped last week and now there are also signs of growing momentum in the aframax market, which saw rates dip below $2,000 per day in the past weeks.

The 107,000-dwt tanker Eagle Columbus (built 1997) is the latest vessel reported to be sold for scrap as higher prices combine with a low freight market to encourage demolition activity.
