The abruptly announced resignations of Shandong Shipping president Fan Chenghai and general manager Wang Dawei are nothing dramatic, say sources close to the shipowner.
Rather, they are part of the politics of executive rotation typical of Chinese state-owned enterprises.
Fan took over from Bao Jianying in April. His departure from the top spot at the Qingdao-based, provincial-controlled shipowner is most likely a lateral promotion.
