A chemical tanker controlled by Greek interests remains stranded off Saudi Arabia after being detained by local authorities.

The 44,999-dwt Androussa (built 1995) has been stuck at the port of Yanbu since April, TradeWinds has learned.

The reason for the detention is still unclear and Dileton Maritime, the owner of the ship, would not comment on the matter.

More than 20 seafarers and armed guards were onboard the vessel at the time of the detention but some of them have been released, according to sources.
