Growing US west coast jet fuel consumption has provided a welcome boost to the transpacific products trade, latest research shows.

States in Petroleum Administration for Defense District (PADD 5) – those bordering the Pacific Ocean plus Nevada and Arizona – make up about 20% of the US population, but account for nearly one third of US jet fuel consumption.

“Most of these jet fuel imports have come from refineries in Asia,” says the US Energy Information Association (EIA).
