Tsakos Energy Navigation is likely to scrap its veteran VLCC and is also looking to shed its oldest suezmax.

New York-listed TEN took an impairment on the 301,000-dwt Millennium (built 1998) and the 164,000-dwt Silia T (built 2002) in the final three months of 2017.

Nikolas Tsakos, chief executive of the shipowner, said that being Greek the company tended to be sentimental about its ships but the Millennium would be divested soon.
