The yard said in a statement that the ships were for “anunidentified customer in the US”. Officials declined to reveal the buyer inadvance of an expected statement later today.
DSME said the newbuildings aredue for delivery in 2016.
The two vessels are understood to have been contractedwith M-type, electronically-controlled, gas-injection (MEGI) propulsion systemsleading to speculation that they are the optional vessels held by Teekay LNGPartners.
