New York-listed DHT says it is paying $97.3m for each of the vessels at the world’s largest shipbuilder.
The price, which the owner points out contains $2.3m in upgrades, compares with the $92.7m it paid for its first newbuildings at the same yard back in November last year.
Delivery of the latest newbuildings, announced just hours after the owner revealed plans for a huge equity issue, is slated for September, October and November of 2016.
