The Japanese shipowner booked a pair of 50,000-dwt vessels at Minaminippon Shipbuilding backed by new charter contracts.

Equatorial Guinea-based Atlantic Methanol Production Company(AMPCO) will take the duo on long-term deals, according to a statement.

AMPCO will use the vessels to ship methanol from itsproduction plants on Bioko Island to markets in the US and Europe.

Minaminippon has an orderbook stretching to six vessels, allbut one of which were ordered by MOL, according to Clarksons.
