It plans to spend JPY 790bn ($6.7bn) on new tonnage over the next five yearsunder a new medium-term management plan.
Thebulk of the money, some JPY 530bn, is set to be invested in the LNG andoffshore sectors, NYK said.
The shipowner said itplanned to expand its LNG fleet from its current 67 vessels to more than 100 bythe end of the FY2018 fiscal year.
