Helgesson, who joined Stena from Rederi AB Transatlantic in 2011, will work alongside chief executive Kim Ullman.
Helgesson replaces Anna Forshamn who left on 31 August to become head of pensions at the parent Stena AB group.
Carl-Johan Hagman, chairman of Concordia, said: “Ola Helgesson’s experience from Stena Line, Rederi AB Transatlantic and the Port of Gothenburg means that Concordia Maritime could not have got a better CFO.
