CEO Dag Fasmer Wittusen said that it would “make logical sense” for the two Jones Act tanker owners to join forces.

Rumours of such a deal have been swirling around the market for some time, since ASC’s entire fleet is wedded to OSG, which has just come out of bankruptcy protection with speculation that it could split up its international and US-flag fleets into separate tanker owning companies.
