The sheriff’s shackles were put on the 2,800-dwt bunker tanker Laguna (built 1993) yesterday while it was anchored in Singapore’s Eastern Bunkering Anchorage. The vessel is owned by Singapore-based Norr Systems Pte Ltd.

It may be a small vessel but the legal ramifications of the case will have a significant impact on the entire shipping industry.
