It said the net loss to 30 September was $14.17m, an improvement of $10.47m from the same period of 2013.

The result was boosted by a partial settlement of $20.05m in respect of the Antonio Gramsci court case in London, as well as property sales.

Gramsci and other single-ship companies connected to Latvian Shipping are suing various other offshore companies and individuals over more than $100m of losses suffered as a result of alleged undervalued and fraudulent charters.
