The state-owned company said the 105,000-dwt Shalamar (ex-Ambelos, built 2006) was delivered on 1 December from Samos Steamship, boosting crude capacity by a third.

It added: “The tanker will serve as a pre-requisite in the backdrop of the rising demand of crude oil subject to the contracts of affreightment with PSO, NPL, PARCO, PRL and Byco.

“Rising demand of national refineries will not only foster the supply side but also serve the economy.”
