US and European shipbroker reports say the New York-listed tanker owner has let go of the 81,400-dwt Venice(built 2001).
The buyer has not been disclosed.
Monaco-led Scorpio, which owns 51 tankers and 26 newbuildings, declined to comment on reports of the deal.
Built at Croatia’s 3.Maj shipyard, the tanker is the last of the three tankers that were in Emanuele-Lauro-led Scorpio’s fleet when it went public in 2010, before embarking on a massive expansion campaign.
