Pal Magnussen will take over the post from Dag Fasmer Wittusen, whose contract term with AMSC expires on 31 December 2014.
The promotion marks a rapid rise for Magnussen, who only joined AMSC as CFO earlier this year from DNB Markets.
At the Norwegian bank he held the position of director of the investment banking division focused on shipping and offshore.
“Dag was a key driver behind AMSC’s formation in 2005, and has in recent years been instrumental in strengthening AMSC and positioning the company for continued success,” said AMSA chairman Annette Malm Justad.
