Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) has produced a solid performance in the traditionally weak third quarter.

The tanker owner posted an eightfold increase in net income with its bottom line climbing to $40m in the three months to the end of September.

Quarterly earnings per share of $0.42 came in ahead of the $0.38 consensus.
