Medium-range (MR) products tanker rates have slipped back from a mid-November peak as a surplus of distillate fuels in Europe crimps demand for volumes from the US Gulf.
The average rate for clean MRs for the triangular transatlantic trade fell to $21,400 per day Tuesday, which marked a 12.7% decline from this time last week and a 23.7% drop since 16 November, which marked the end of a brief surge.
