Suezmax spot earnings jumped Tuesday as West Africa activity perked up and Middle East fixtures captured market attention.
The average time charter equivalent (TCE) rate for the crude tanker class increased to $52,100 per day, an increase of $4,080, or 8.2%, on yesterday's levels on the Baltic Exchange.
That came as rates on the TD20 route from West Africa to Europe were estimated at WorldScale (WS) 117 to WS 125, a jump from WS 109 to WS 118 yesterday.
