Crowley Maritime says it dispatched 18 Jones Act-endorsed petroleum vessels for to bring gasoline and diesel into Florida ports over the next week.

US refiner Phillips 66 is also dispatching gasoline to Florida, but aboard a non-US flag ship allowed under the waiver programme from the US Customs and Border Protection.

The Jacksonville-based Crowley says it is responding to the fuel shortages caused by the evacuation of millions of Florida residents due to Hurricane Irma.
