National Iranian Tanker Co (NITC) is looking to sell its two oldest VLCCs for demolition.
Shipbroking sources say the 303,200-dwt Aura and 299,000-dwt Bright (both built 1993) have emerged as sales candidates at a time when VLCC scrapping has been limited.
The last VLCC sent for scrap was Polembros Shipping’s 314,000-dwt Good News (built 1999), which went for $395 per ldt in mid-April.
