Tankers International (TI) has added to its VLCC fleet in a deal with Swiss oil group Mercuria.

The UK-based leading pool operator said the 297,000-dwt Mercuria-operated Seaways Kilimanjaro (built 2012) was delivered into its control on 15 March.

The scrubber-fitted tanker is owned by US company Seaways International.

Brokers report the ship was fixed on a three-year time charter for $45,000 per day in April 2020.
