Trafigura has up to seven suezmax tankers on for short-term charter in part to lift its own cargoes and take advantage of firming spot markets.

The Geneva-based firm is being identified as charterer for the first voyage of the 157,500dwt T Semahat (built 2017), which is owned by Ditas Shipping of Turkey.

Brokers linked to the Ernst Russ-owned 159,500-dwt Cape Bellavista (built 2002), New Shipping's 157,300-dwt New Trust (built 1999), Eurotankers 166,500-dwt Euroglory (built 2005), the Toisa owned 167,900-dwt United Leadership (built 2005), Aza Shipping's 150,700-dwt Mogra (built 2000) and the 167,000-dwt Maria Grace (built 2002).
