Greece's Tsakos Shipping & Trading has secured a 30-month charter for an MR product tanker despite market fundamentals that are preventing many period deals from taking shape.
Brazil's Petrobras has chartered the 53,000-dwt Aris (built 2005) for $14,350 per day.
The charter marks a healthy rate for the MR market, where Howe Robinson Partners estimates a three-year charter should fetch $14,000 per day.
