Industry sources say the companies are “waiting for the ink to dry” on contracts before making an announcement, possibly within days. They expect GasLog to net a five-year charter with options to extend the hire for the first of two LNG carrier newbuildings, contracted at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
At the end of September, SHI announced it had netted a pair of LNG carrier newbuildings priced at KRW 420bn ($370m).
