Bulker shipbuilder Tsuneishi Zhoushan is diversifying into the tanker market.

The China-based, Japanese-owned shipyard is including long-range-one (LR1) tankers in its portfolio as it tries to counter the lack of dry cargo orders.

The yard says it can offer shipping companies 2020 berth slots if they are interested in ordering the in-house-designed, 77,000-dwt vessels that will meet the Tier-III requirement of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) emissions rules.
