A behind-the-scenes decision has already been made that Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding will be chosen to build the four further, non-ice-class ships that Yamal LNG requires, Chinese financial sources tell TradeWinds — but no order has been signed so far.

The news emerged in connection with a ceremony held at Hudong-Zhonghua on Tuesday to mark the naming of the 174,000-dwt Cesi Gladstone (built 2016), the first ship in a series of six serving the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project.
