Michael Zolotas has taken a radical step to insulate his US-listed company NewLead Holdings from his private row with Cypriot authorities, who want him tried over his alleged role in a bank failure.
Zolotas, who was still being held by police in Athens and fighting a Cypriot extradition request at the time of writing, stepped down as NewLead president, chief executive and board chairman.
