Kolkata-based bulker player Liberty Marine Syndicate appears to have bowed out of shipowning with the sale of its only bulker.
The Indian owner reportedly sold the Hyundai Mipo-built, 52,000-dwt bulker Liberty Prudencia (built 2003) for $6.3m last week.
It purchased the supramax as the New Orion for $29.5m from STX Pan Ocean in August 2010.
Brokers remain unclear on the buyer of the supramax, with some sources claiming it to be clients of Chittagong-based Brave Royal Shipping, while others claim it is an Indian buyer.
