Greek shipowner Evangelos Pistiolis has returned to Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard with a contract that is likely to add two medium-range (MR) tankers to the fleet of private company Central Shipping Monaco.
Market sources this week said the owner had signed a deal for one firm 50,000-dwt tanker, with an option for a second ship.
A price in the region of $32.5m each is understood to have been agreed for the tankers, which will be built to the company’s own specification.
