Gazprom Flot’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad has been launched at Hyundai Heavy Industries in what LNG industry commentators say is going to be a busy year for the FSRU sector.
The 174,100-cbm Marshal Vasilevskiy is due for delivery in November.
The Arc4 unit has been designed to be fully tradable so that it can ship its own cargoes from Russia’s planned LNG production plant on the Baltic coast and provide regional distribution and bunkering.
