The Hanjin-owned vessel falls into a box capacity category that is undergoing a heavy culling. Numerous similar-size ships have been sent off for recycling long before they have come to the end of their designed lifespan.
That boxship bloodbath continued last week with yet another raft of relatively young panamax and smaller vessels sold for recycling.
