The DSME-built, 319,000-dwt Orthis (built 2011) has been bought for an attractive $57m, sources say. VesselsValue estimates it is worth $58.4m.
The acquisition can be seen as a replacement by TMS of the 301,000-dwt tanker Universal Brave (built 1997), which was sold to Thailand’s Nathalin in December for $19.5m to $20m.
TMS is listed with a fleet of 35 tankers up to VLCC size that are trading.
