The niche operator says it has inked a contract for a conro at an unspecified yard. It did not give details but says the ship will be delivered in the first quarter of 2019.
At that point BCL will replace its existing 6,500-dwt/362-teu conro Oleander (built 1990), which will be retired. The newbuilding will be prepared for a possible retrofit to LNG propulsion.
