Cornes P&I, part of the historic Cornes silk and tea-trading empire established in Yokohama in the 1860s, will relinquish the correspondent company early next month, with the business to be renamed Tindall Riley (Britannia) Japan.
Cornes is a dealer in Japan for Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars, as well as sportier vehicles such as Ferrari and Lamborghini. It is also an insurance broker, has a Lloyd’s agency business and other diversifications that include importing agricultural machinery.
