Several little-known Greek owners have timed their dry bulk purchases well in recent months, long before secondhand values took off.
It puts them in a good position to benefit from juicy asset plays if prices continue to rise.
Among them is Mega Shipping Line Corp, which has emerged as the buyer of a 12-year-old supramax — the 48,900-dwt Nemtas-2 (built 2005) — sold by Turkish interests for around $8m earlier this year.
