Heineken, the brewer that a few years ago advertised its lager under the banner “refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach” is taking a step into marine eco-fuels to help refresh a port's air.
Alongside foodstuff distributor Nedcargo and commercial shipping biofuel company GoodFuels, Heineken is launching a pilot initiative into using sustainable fuels.
GoodFuels will supply advanced marine fuel containing 30% biofuel to the 104-teu barge For Ever that transports Heineken export beer from the Dutch company’s brewery in Zoeterwoude to deepsea terminals in Rotterdam.
