Taiwan’s CSBC shipyard turned the clock back when it held a naming ceremony for GPO Heavylift’s 65,000-dwt semi-submersible GPO Grace.
“Today’s naming ceremony is a little unusual from the ones we have had for the last few years,” said CSBC chairman Dr Chen Wen-Lon. “We have been delivering containerships.”
The last time CSBC built a semi-submersible ship was 17 years ago, when it completed the 76,000-dwt Blue Marlin (built 2000).
