More than 100 of shipping’s leading women headed to new heights in Singapore this month as the Christmas party season got under way.

At their annual event, Singapore’s Women in Shipping met at the Zafferano restaurant at the top of the Ocean Financial Centre.

Such is the popularity of this extended lunch, there were no “no-shows” this year and the four organisers — Kate Bannister from Clarksons’ dry cargo department, BP’s Nicci Barry, Lynette Chng from Eastern Pacific Shipping, Clarksons Tankers’ Debbie Hampton — had to squeeze in a few unexpected guests.

“We manage to have international participants each year and this year was no exception with attendees flying in from Hong Kong and Greece,"one host said

"What better timing than to plan a business trip around this event!” one reveller added.

After eating, the women decamped to the perhaps rather aptly named SOS bar to continue networking and, according to the organisers, a few "Jingle Belles" made the most of the dance floor.
