Reefer owners are losing out in Russia's banana gold rush. The country's extraordinary growth rates are earning it the reputation of the new El Dorado of the fruit sector but that is far from the case for the reefer-freight market.
According to the newly published US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Gain report, Russia's fruit-imports sector enjoyed a growth rate of 36% in 2005.
