Seoul-based Chang Myung Shipping has ordered four 57,000-dwt supramaxes at China's newly established Zhenghe Shipyard.
Sources say Chang Myung is paying between $36m and $37m for each of the bulkers, which are being designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI). The order is the yard's first for export.
Located in Zhoushan in Zhejiang province, Zhenghe is said to be owned by a Qingdao-based shipping outfit called Qingdao Zhenghe Shipping.
